Who Am I?

I’m a 39 year old mum, wife and psychotherapist. I also have MS. I love a cup of tea but you’ll hardly ever see me finish it, I also love a glass of wine, but you’ll hardly ever see me finish that either nowadays. I like to think I’m funny enough, I’m probably too honest, caring and if you’re my friend, then you’re family. I have a 7 year old son, an 8 year old dog and a husband I’ve been best friends with since I was seventeen years old.

I was a Marketing Manager by profession a few years back; a profession and job I loved. But five years ago, MS had different plans for me. So, I listened to my illness and chose to pursue a different path. I chose to slow down, start studying again and eventually help people for a living in the way my psychotherapist helped me.

I am now a Gestalt Psychotherapist and I’ve had a vision for a while. I have, what I like to call, my mission. That’s, what this is about. I’d like to raise awareness about MS as well as raise awareness about mental health and what it’s like to live with an invisible disability. When the idea of this blog came to mind, the idea was simple. I want to create a space where I can connect with others by sharing my experience, as well as sharing some insights on becoming a psychotherapist.

I hope to help people who like me, are struggling or suffering and I’d like them primarily to know, that they aren’t alone.

I would also like you to know, this website hasn’t been an easy step for me to take. Going live with this blog and being vulnerable with all of you. It’s taken years because it took years to find the courage. It took me years, because I am also a 39 year old mum, wife, psychotherapist and MS sufferer filled with insecurities, doubts and my own fears. But, I’m here, live and this is me.

“Three things in life – your health, your mission and the people you love. That’s it.
